Quotes Of The Year

2012 is going to be a big year all over the world. But before we move on lets look back on 2011

Memorable Quotes

Not meant to be a factual statement." - Jon Kyl's April press release responding to questions about his claim on the Senate floor that 90 percent of Planned Parenthood's activities are abortion

  • "I put an asterisk on my support... One position that I’m concerned about shifting the cost burden to senior citizens. Seniors are saying, look, I’m not in a positon to be able to handle that. I also share that real fear, that’s why I put that asterisk out there." -- Michele Bachmann on her vote for the Ryan Medicare Budget.
  • "So let me say on the record, any ad which quotes what I said on Sunday is a falsehood." - Newt Gingrich flip-flopping on Ryan Budget
  • "Corporations are people, my friend." Mitt Romney at the Iowa State Fair
  • "Oops." - Rick Perry not able to remember the third cabinet department he would eliminate at a GOP debate
  • "And when they ask me who is the president of Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan I'm going to say, you know, I don't know. Do you know?" - Herman Cain
  • "Every barrel of oil that comes out of those sands in Canada is a barrel of oil we don’t have to buy from a foreign source." - Rick Perry

You start the year from a dishonest perspective. Let's look at a few (if not all) of these quotes:

Bachmann: merely leaving room for a deeper look or a possible tweaking of the Ryan plan. Sounds damned reasonable to me. What's the lefty problem with this quote?

Gingrich: without knowing exactly the ad in question, I'm guessing that he was quoted out of context in a manner that he considers implies something he does not mean or support. What's the lefty problem with this quote?

Romney: this is true. Corporations do not exist all by themselves. They are made up of and run by people. This shouldn't have to be explained even to lefties. What is their problem with this quote?

Perry #1: oh golly, the horror! Perry had a brain fart! Shall I list all of Obama's for you, beginning with 75 states, and breathalizers for asthmatic kids?

Perry #2: obviously he is referring to foreign sources unfriendly to America. Only lefties would try to make hay out such a thing. Barry is no better without a teleprompter in front of him.

Cain: really, the worst part about this is Cain's assumption that the interviewer wouldn't ask the question without first knowing the answer.

So for a lefty offering of "memorable" quotes by the GOP candidates, meant to present them in a bad light, only one comes close to being truly bad, and Cain's isn't really all that bad.

    How desperate you lefties are!

    Happy New Year!

Hey, Ron, L&B would like your email address, if possible. I will give it to them with your permission (or not.)B wants me to give him the blog address, too. Guess, he has things he needs to say and wants a forum to say them in. :-) Will give him that one. Things are so so, at best, w/the 3 of us, but we're friends again. :-)
    Hope all is well w/you.
    Peace!
